Ordered by Eisenhower on April 22, 1953
Establishes the National Defense Service Medal for U.S. military personnel serving between June 27, 1950, and an end date set by the Secretary of Defense. Directs the Secretaries of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Treasury to issue uniform regulations governing medal eligibility. Limits recipients to one award, which may be given posthumously.
